Our History

Bungendore Veterinary Surgery came into being in March 1994 when Drs Jack and Rosemary Laing purchased a small mixed practice from Dr Honey Pyner. The original surgery building was a small weatherboard cottage located at the back of the current block. In mid 1994 the building was moved to the front of the block, to allow better access for clients and their pets, as well as yards and stable built to allow for accommodation of horses and farm animals. As Bungendore and the practice expanded we slowly grew out of the old building and in October 2010 moved into our wonderful new clinic positioned behind the original clinic. It’s hard to imagine today that we ever fitted into the old cottage!

From a single person practice in 1994 we have grown to eight full time vets who all bring a multitude of skills and a love of animals to our diverse practice. In 2007 Dr Michael McCormack joined the practice, becoming a partner in 2012. After joining us in 2011 Dr Stacy Bridgfoot also became a partner in December 2018. We look forward to continuing to evolve in our thriving rural community.
