On property farm animal visits from our experienced vets

Whether you have a lame cow, or a pregnant alpaca, we are able to service all farm animals on property. Our experienced vets are all well equipped to deal with whatever issue you may be facing with your farm animal. Whether it be a routine check up or an emergency appointment, we are here to help. We have free or reduced travel cost days for non-urgent appointments or an emergency service for when things don’t quite go to plan.

Our large animal mobile service covers the Bungendore, Tarago, Wamboin, Bywong, Carwoola, Queanbeyan, Burra, northern ACT, Hall and Murrumbateman regions.

During the week we offer free or reduced travel costs to these areas. Please see the table for more details, including which areas are covered in the morning or afternoon.

We are proud to be one of the only clinics in the Canberra region offering on farm services for farm animals.

Whether it is to give advice on herd health or to see the beloved family sheep, we are here to help. We can provide many of our services on farm, which takes the stress out of transporting animals to the clinic. We also offer free or reduced travel cost days for non-urgent bookings. If you are a first-time farmer or an experienced producer, we can help with all your veterinary needs. We can perform many routine surgeries on property with the right facilities, as well as pregnancy diagnosis and obstetrical emergencies.

For our vets to do the best job possible on farm, it is important that you have the right facilities.

All farm animals must be in a small yard before the vet arrives on property. For examining cows, there must be a race and cattle crush that the vet can use for the examination. There needs to be an able-bodied adult present to assist the vet if required. Having animals caught and ready to go makes our job so much quicker and easier. Even the quietest cow can suddenly run in the other direction when the vet arrives! We want to ensure the vet can do the best job possible while keeping everyone safe, and reduce the stress levels for the animal. You can play a huge role in this by ensuring you are ready for the vet when they arrive and that your facilities are up to scratch. If you are unsure, please contact our customer care team or send us some photos of your set up and we can decide what will be best.
