Making a diagnosis and performing surgery

When an animal is unwell, you want to have the confidence that we have the diagnostics tools to help find an answer. With in-house pathology, radiology and ultrasound available, we are always here to help

When you are faced with a sick or injured farm animal, it can be really scary but we are here to help whenever you need. During these stressful times, it is critical that you are provided with the tools required to make a fully informed decision. Having the right diagnostic tools on hand is a great place to start. At Bungendore Vet we have a comprehensive laboratory that allows us to perform things like complete blood work quickly to get you the answers you need. If surgery is required, we discuss all of your options and help you make the right decision for you and your farm animal. We have radiography and ultrasound available for small ruminants in clinic as well if required. We also welcome new clients within our travel areas or in clinic.

Farm animals can sometimes require surgery too! If your sheep has a lump, your goat needs a caesarean, or your bull needs to be castrated, our team are here to help. We are one of the only clinics in the area equipped to perform in clinic surgeries on small ruminants, and perform them on a regular basis. If your small ruminant needs surgery, we treat them the same as we would a beloved family pet. All small ruminants having surgery receive intravenous fluid therapy, pain relief, and a dedicated nurse to monitor them throughout their procedure. We have pet sheep ourselves, so know how loved they can be!

We can also provide a lot of our services on farm, just give us a call and talk to one of our friendly customer care team. All cattle surgeries are performed on farm.

We can perform ultrasound and manual pregnancy testing of cattle. We can also perform ultrasound pregnancy testing of small ruminants, including alpacas. Ultrasound pregnancy testing is a quick, accurate way to determine pregnancy and can be done from 21 days gestation.
