It can be scary having a sick pet, but here at Bungendore Vet Surgery we have all the diagnostic equipment in-house to get you answers quickly. Whether its an abdominal ultrasound, an x-ray of a limb or a biopsy of a lump, we can do it all in the one location with one of our highly trained vets. We have an in-house laboratory that means we can do blood testing, urine analysis and microscopy without delay to get you the information you need to make a fully informed decision.
When surgery is required, we are equipped to do most soft tissue and orthopaedic surgeries (including cruciate repairs).
We have a fully equipped small animal surgery with state-of-the-art anaesthetic monitoring equipment as well as a dedicated nurse for all animals undergoing anaesthesia for the duration of the procedure. All animals having a surgical procedure, including desexing, are placed on intravenous fluids and receive pain relief.
We have a full range of diagnostics available in clinic. This includes a dedicated radiology room, which allows us to take x-rays of all body systems, including dental radiograph equipment. One of our vets also has PennHIP certification. This means she can do radiographs for PennHIP scoring which is the most accurate way to screen for hip dysplasia (a genetic hip condition that causes early degeneration of the hip joints). It allows us to identify at risk dogs early and discuss options for life long management to keep your dog pain free for as long as possible. It can be performed from 16 weeks of age.
We have a state-of-the-art ultrasound that allows us to perform full abdominal ultrasounds, and pregnancy diagnosis from 21 days gestation. This often means we can get answers quickly with a non-invasive test, in the comfort of a clinic where your pet feels at ease.
We have the ability to perform endoscopy to examine the nose, throat and oesphagus enabling us to gain insights into why your pet may be sneezing or coughing.
We have an in-house laboratory that allows us to run full blood screens on your pet which include an in-depth assessment of their red and white blood cells, as well as assessing the function of the major organs. Our laboratory also includes in-house canine progesterone testing for all of our breeder friends.
We also have the ability to run a full analysis on an animal’s urine where we look at kidney function, test for diabetes, and look for urinary issues and infections.
